I draw what strikes me; an image, idea, sentence that inspires me to create a message of my own. It always starts with something that causes me to fully pause for a moment, demanding my attention.

The majority of my work centers on the human figure, I am fascinated by movement and awkward poses a body creates. I feel most comfortable with the pencil, the direct control between hand and paper, I start by laying down the sharp lines of a figure.

A lifelong runner, my style hinges on long limbs, jagged joints, and exaggerated facial features. I give my characters a whimsical, light sense even when the theme or emotion may be darker. The juxtapose urging the viewer to look beyond their first reaction.

My work is not limited to specific figures and is diverse in depicting athletes to musicians, social icons and fashion to period pieces. There is often an element of humor in each of my pieces.

My work always starts with that original spark of inspiration, but from there I let my pencil direct how it evolves. I allow my hand to work unconsciously, letting it act as guide.
